How move evolution works

Upgrade the base move to level 5 and acquire the matching upgrade card. The official move reference describes a golden evolution card becoming available once the conditions are met. Five buff moves have no evolved form.

Use the lookup before choosing a card

Search by the upgrade you have already collected to see which evolutions it supports. A planned evolution is easier to pursue when your next upgrade choice has a clear purpose. Availability of a move still depends on the game; this table does not assign every move to every partner.
