PokeSurvivor Mewtwo Build — Mewtwo
Psychic · #150

Recommended PokeSurvivor Mewtwo Build

Core goal: Confusion + Nasty Plot + Harden in one active group. Required for that three-move group: 2 earned Bonds. Optional fourth move: Psybeam, requiring a third Bond to join the same group.

Mewtwo profile →

This PokeSurvivor Mewtwo build starts with Confusion, develops it into a dependable attack, then works toward a single active group with Nasty Plot and Harden. Add Psybeam only when you want a second attack and can support it with another Bond. This is our suggested progression route, not a tested best-in-slot ranking.

Checked October 24, 2026. Move facts and Bond rules use code snapshot 39b9b4c; live deployment parity is unconfirmed. Older Mewtwo profile stats are not used as current combat benchmarks.

An attack needs move level 5, its matching stat card during this run, and selection of its golden evolution card. Merely reaching level 5 does not finish the evolution. Nasty Plot and Harden are buffs without evolutions.

Mewtwo Bond setup: build the active group in stages

Earned Bonds spentActive group to aim forWhat remains separate
0ConfusionOther learned moves require switching. Do not leave a support-only slot active when you need damage.
1Confusion + Nasty PlotHarden stays separate. If immediate safety matters more, linking Harden first is an alternative.
2Confusion + Nasty Plot + HardenThree-move core, provided all three moves have actually been learned.
3Confusion + Nasty Plot + Harden + PsybeamOptional four-move group. Earn the extra Bond and learn Psybeam before expecting this setup.

One Bond first joins two moves; each later Bond adds one more. This snapshot permits four moves in the group. Keep the resulting group active. Learning cards and winning rifts are prerequisites, not guaranteed steps on a fixed timer.

Mewtwo starting move: build around Confusion

With the default starting setup, Mewtwo begins with Confusion. Move through clear space and collect experience without crossing marked attacks for a single pickup. Learn useful cards when offered; do not stop a working run because a preferred second attack is missing. Before the first Bond, switch to a buff only when you have room and return to your attack afterward.

Mewtwo build upgrade priority and evolution cards

Our order is conditional: improve the attack that is keeping the route clear, take its required evolution card when available, and fix a survival problem before adding another damage slot. Confusion wants Reflexes; Psybeam wants Power. If you keep Confusion as the main attack, there is no reason to treat Power as its evolution key. Permanent upgrades are a separate investment and cannot replace the required run card.

Nasty Plot or Swords Dance for your Mewtwo build?

Confusion and Psybeam are special attacks, so this route uses Nasty Plot. Swords Dance supports physical attacks and is not the matching offensive buff for this pair. Psycho Cut is physical despite sharing Mewtwo’s Psychic type: type and damage category answer different questions. Read activation and duration rules rather than assuming that any buff occupying a slot stays effective forever.

Mewtwo moveset alternatives: Psychic, Mist Ball and TMs

Psychic offers a radial style and needs Magnet to evolve; Mist Ball uses a homing style and needs Reflexes. They are alternatives to investigate, not additions beyond the four-move group. Mewtwo’s natural pool follows Normal plus Psychic in this snapshot. Shadow Ball is Ghost and is not a default natural option; a TM exception must be confirmed in the live taught-move list, not borrowed from a main-series moveset.

Mewtwo build items: Choice Band or recovery?

Leftovers is a recovery option when repeated chip damage ends attempts. Quick Claw is worth comparing if attack timing feels too slow. Choice Band trades move switching for damage: consider it only after the group you intend to keep active is actually ready. These are item-selection reasons, not measured DPS results; drops are random and only one held item can be kept.

Why your Mewtwo build may struggle

Do not count four learned moves as four simultaneous attacks. Do not replace special support with Swords Dance just because an old video does. Do not lock yourself into an unfinished group with Choice Band. If you still die with damage available, review your escape route and ground warnings before buying another offensive upgrade. Compare attempts with the same permanent-upgrade budget and record what ended the run.

YouTube Mewtwo build: Confusion + Psychic

In the supplied transcript, the creator reports a 30:41 Mewtwo run using Confusion, Psychic, Harden and Swords Dance in one active group with Choice Band. The creator also reports substantial permanent upgrades. This is one reported run, not a success rate or a demonstration we independently playtested.

Keep the creator’s Confusion + Psychic coverage idea, but use Nasty Plot for those special attacks under the checked rules. The screenshot’s Swords Dance builds physical Attack. We do not apply its attack multiplier to special damage or assume the image proves today’s rules.

Confusion + requires Reflexes; Psychic + requires Magnet. Each attack must reach level 5 and take its own golden evolution card. This is a radial-coverage alternative to the optional Psybeam route above.

Useful decisions from the video

  • Finish the active four-move group before accepting Choice Band’s switching restriction. Separate inactive slots do not become active because the item is equipped.
  • The creator favors Confusion plus Psychic for coverage and avoids Quick Attack because its automatic dash feels unpredictable. That is a movement preference, not proof that dash attacks are always bad.
  • The run used heavy permanent investment. We retain the recommendation to improve the starting attack, but do not turn the creator’s restart preference into a requirement for every run.

Stack math: what the numbers mean

CheckResult in the checked snapshot
Harden, level 50.07 × 1.4² = 0.1372 reduction per stack; maximum 7 stacks. Six stacks give 82.32% before the final 80% cap.
Nasty Plot, level 51 + 7 × (0.13 × 1.4²) = 2.7836 special-attack factor at full stacks.
Nasty Plot with Choice Band2.7836 × 1.4 ≈ 3.90, for these two matching factors only; not a measured total DPS multiplier.
10 cooldown cards, illustration0.92¹⁰ ≈ 0.434 of the original delay, not an 80% reduction. This arithmetic illustrates the transcript’s multiplicative calculation.

Buff levels and the reduction cap were checked in source snapshot 39b9b4c. The final factor assumes maintained stacks; the on-screen ×7 is a stack count, not seven times the stat. Live balance updates and other modifiers can change the result.

When more Armor stops helping — and when it still matters

If Harden is already maintaining the checked 80% reduction cap, more Armor does not further improve that same reduction. During the opening or when stacks drop, Armor can still help. The transcript separately warns about Arceus: the checked player code bypasses this reduction for pure damage, so the normal-hit cap is not protection against every attack. Prioritize positioning and recovery rather than treating the cap as invulnerability.

PokeSurvivor Mewtwo build FAQ

How should I adapt the YouTube Mewtwo build to current special attacks?

Keep Confusion, Psychic and Harden, replace the shown Swords Dance with Nasty Plot for special support, and earn three Bonds for the four-move group. Select that group before considering Choice Band. The reported 30:41 result is not a guarantee.

What PokeSurvivor Mewtwo build should I start with?

Our starting recommendation is Confusion, Nasty Plot and Harden linked into one active group with two Bonds. Psybeam is an optional fourth move with another Bond, not a guaranteed requirement.

Should Mewtwo use Nasty Plot or Swords Dance?

Use Nasty Plot for this special-attack route. A physical attack such as Psycho Cut calls for a different category decision.

How does Confusion evolve?

Reach move level 5, take Reflexes in the same run, then choose the golden Confusion + card.

Can Mewtwo naturally learn Shadow Ball?

Not in the Normal-plus-Psychic natural pool used here. Check a taught-move exception in the live game before planning around it.

How many Bonds does the complete group need?

Three moves together need two Bonds; four moves together need three in the checked snapshot. Separate inactive slots do not execute together.

How do I unlock Mewtwo?

Mewtwo is a Kanto partner listed as 5★ in the stored roster. Use the appropriate regional gacha; a rarity guarantee does not guarantee Mewtwo specifically.

Does this build guarantee a 30-minute run?

No. This is a mechanics-based planning route. Item drops, offered cards, upgrades and execution change the result.
